Security, Medical and Rescue personnel

Baseline Group delivers a complete solution for your security, medical and rescue personnel.  We have successfully provided over 500,000 hours (as of December 2015) of direct employed security, medical and rescue personnel to our clients since 2010 alone.  

We have placed personnel as individuals for relief or as a complete security, emergency response and medical team which comprised of over 60 personnel on one site.  Where required we also provide team leaders and have experience of running a fully self-managed team reporting to the clients Security and Emergency Response Superintendent.

Security Officers / First Responders
Our Security Officers and First Responders are the first point of contact for your clients, contractors and site visitors. We appreciate that it is very important that they present a professional first image of your business. Our security officers are highly skilled and trained to deal with large numbers of site visitors, contractors and the complexity of onshore or offshore sites, their size and sometimes their remoteness.

As a minimum, all Baseline Group Security Officers are qualified to Certificate ll or III in Security Operations and hold the Apply Advance First Aid certificate. They often also hold a Drug and Alcohol Testing national certificate and are therefore able to undertake random or scheduled testing on behalf of the client. Our First Responders would also have additional Emergency Response or Medical qualifications depending on the requirements of the site.

Typical key duties of a Baseline Group Security Officer / First Responder:

  • Gatehouse management and operation
  • Access control and monitoring

  • Drug & Alcohol testing – random or planned

Selected Security Officers would be trained as First Responders and would hold additional rescue or medical skills thus enabling them to support an existing Emergency Response Team (ERT) or add this capability to a site and therefore assist in a emergency situation.

Emergency Services Officer (ESO) / Security
Our Emergency Services Officers (ESO) provide an immediate response to a site emergency or incident. They are responsible for managing injured workers, controlling an incident area or undertaking rescue operations. On sites where the client requires a dual security / emergency response approach we ensure that the ESOs hold dual qualifications of both emergency response and security, including security and if required crowd control licenses.

Typical key duties of a Baseline Group Emergency Service Officer / Security :

  • Respond to emergencies and maintain a state of operational readiness
  • Develop a volunteer ERT team and conduct regular maintenance training sessions
  • Train nationally accredited ER courses under a host RTO
  • Coordinate ERT activities including conducting weekly skills maintenance training
  • Conduct audits, pre-starts and scheduled weekly equipment checks
  • Develop practical rescue plans for high risk work and areas
  • Work to restore client business goals in a disaster recovery situation
  • Drug and Alcohol Screening (FFW Testing)
  • Active participation in weekly toolbox meetings

Our ESO’s can also minimise a client’s onsite costs by maintaining site equipment including fire equipment, checking workforce compliance with HSE/Emergency Response site policy, workforce emergency training, as well as daily tasks such as conducting Random Breath Tests.

Medical Emergency Services Officers (MESO)
As well as holding a full suite of emergency response skills selected ESO’s are also trained to a higher level of medical understanding such as Certificate IV in Healthcare (Ambulance) or Industrial Medic to enable them to support a patient until they can be transported to a hospital, airport or local Paramedics attend the scene.

Medical Officers
Our Doctors, Paramedics and Registered Nurses deliver the highest level of professional response to any emergency situation as well as delivering ongoing clinical management, staff health and wellness programmes. Our medical officers have diverse and experienced backgrounds, encompassing on-road experience, clinical pre-hospital skills, rescue, mine, offshore and marine medical experience and hospital-based care credentials.

These qualified health care professionals are experienced in working independently in remote locations with minimal medical supervision.

Typical key duties of a Baseline Group Medical Officer depending on qualifications :

  • Daily management of site medical centre.
  • Provide critical emergency care under remote conditions.
  • Management of poison permit and liaising with medical direction.
  • Maintain effective levels of medical stock including all scheduled drugs up to S8.
  • Management of return to work programs needed by the workforce.
  • On call 24/7 to provide welfare checks and emergency callouts.
  • Promoting positive safe work culture through site initiatives and toolbox health topics.
  • Conduct basic first aid training for the workforce.
  • Ensure correct reporting of all required medical and OHS statistics.
  • Conducting ECG’s, Hydration testing and FFW testing.
  • Compile and report medical and injury statistics

Our Medical officers have access to off-site Doctor Assistance and are complimented by specialist equipment required to provide leading-edge medical services for the treatment of high risk environment work-related and non-work related injuries and illnesses.

Safety Advisors
Our Safety Advisors are experiences safety specialists who are responsible for overseeing the health and safety function onsite or offshore. General duties include project reporting requirements such as HSE statistics, analyse incident trends and prepare preventative solutions to the security, emergency response and medical teams. We currently provide Safety officers and advisors to onshore and offshore facilities for ongoing projects and shutdowns.
